About Sandra Kazan - Voice and Speech Coach

For over twenty years Sandra has been a voice and speech consultant to individuals seeking to improve their communication and presentation skills.

Her individual and group workshops focus on basic techniques of relaxation, breath support, vocal projection, articulation, and preparation of text.

She has had particular success in helping people reduce accents.

Her clients have included public speakers, clergy, attorneys, authors making media appearances, and corporate executives at such prestigious companies as Bayer Health Care, Johnson & Johnson, Alcoa, Hearst Corporation, Publicis Dialog, Martin E. Segal Company, Ketchum Communications Worldwide,Verizon Apex, Thacher Proffitt & Wood, Jewish Outreach Institute, and the National Audubon Society.

Among the many international clients who have attended her accent reduction workshops are corporate executives from: Daiichi Sankyo., Astellas, and Sumitomo Dainippon Pharma.

She is proud to be on the faculty of HEBREW UNION COLLEGE in New York City as its communication consultant, training and coaching students in voice and speech and the delivery of sermons.

She has served as a speech coach in Basic Trial Skills on the faculty of The New York State Defenders Association at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and has worked with many attorneys in private practice and led acting workshops for lawyers from the Legal Aid Society.

At the invitation of the Dance Theatre Department of the State Drama School in Krakow, and the Athens Fringe Festival in Greece, she worked as a dialect coach with young actors and dancers.

As an actress, Sandra appeared on Broadway in the original company of FIDDLER ON THE ROOF and Camus' CALIGULA. Her film credits include Sidney Lumet's DOG DAY AFTERNOON, Michael Roemer's THE PLOT AGAINST HARRY, and Robert M. Young's CAUGHT.

She received her training at the School of Performing Arts in New York City and continued her studies with the acclaimed acting teacher Michael Howard, and voice and speech coaches, Patsy Rodenburg, Kristin Linklater, and Joan Melton.

She studied voice and accents in London at the Central School of Speech and Drama. Always aware that the voice is connected to the body, she studied the Feldenkrais Movement with Dominique Weibel and continued her singing studies with master teacher Jeannette Lovetri.

She has narrated many books on tape, both fiction and non-fiction, for the Andrew Heiskell Braille and Talking Book Library.
